ISLAMABAD: In a significant move towards enhancing the welfare of media workers and artists, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to inaugurate a groundbreaking health insurance card scheme here today (Tuesday).

The initiative aims to provide health coverage to media professionals and artists, affording them access to premier healthcare facilities across the nation without any financial burden. This venture aligns with the government’s commitment to supporting those who contribute to the cultural and information sectors.

Under the ambit of this health insurance scheme, eligible media workers and artists will gain access to world-class medical services in a network of twelve hundred hospitals across the country. The program offers a comprehensive corporate health insurance package valued at 1.5 million rupees annually, underscoring the government’s dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of these pivotal contributors to society, according to the state media.

In addition to this pioneering insurance endeavour, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also scheduled to unveil the Pakistan Code during the event. The Pakistan Code stands as a digital repository housing an extensive compilation of federal laws. This innovation will be accessible via a dedicated mobile application as well as a user-friendly website. The launch of this platform is poised to revolutionize the way legal professionals, including judges, lawyers, legal experts, and law students, engage with federal laws. Notably, it will also extend its utility to government officials and the general public, fostering a transparent and informed legal landscape.
