ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday launched a Digital Youth Hub portal to provide integrated and one-stop guidance on the youth-related initiatives launched by the government.
In his address, the prime minister congratulated the youth and assured them that the government was expanding the Youth Program nationwide, with the distribution of laptops and business loans taking place across the country.
He disclosed that the banks had already disbursed Rs 30 billion to the youth in the form of business loans.
Additionally, a substantial budget of Rs 80 billion was allocated for various youth-related initiatives, including IT programs, freelancing opportunities, IT incubators, and other projects, while Rs 5 billion was earmarked for sports-related ventures.
The prime minister also highlighted the establishment of an Education Endowment Fund with Rs 5 billion funding, inspired by his previous Endowment Fund initiative at the federal level. He clarified that facilities such as laptops and funding were primarily intended for high achievers in public sector universities.
Registrations for Digital Youth Hub
Encouraging the youth to register at the Digital Youth Hub to access the available facilities, the prime minister expressed his gratitude to various individuals, including SAPM Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Lt General Senator Abdul Qayyum, vice-chancellors, and members of the Youth Parliament for their efforts in uplifting the youth.
Assuring the participants of his continuous efforts to empower the youth and elevate Pakistan to greater heights, the prime minister also acknowledged the presence of the Azerbaijan Ambassador, mentioning the exchange of experiences between the two countries in the field of horticulture.
Special Assistant to the PM, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, informed the gathering that the government had allocated Rs 5 billion for skill development and an equivalent amount for sports-related programs. She emphasized that the Digital Youth Hub was the culmination of the prime minister’s recent initiatives for the youth, all aimed at fast-tracking progress.
