Addressing other matters, the spokesperson declared Pakistan’s rejection of the US State Department’s classification of Pakistan as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC), citing concerns about the process’s credibility and transparency. Baloch stated that such unilateral, arbitrary, and subjective designations are counterproductive and undermine the goal of advancing religious freedoms.
Furthermore, Pakistan expressed support for South Africa’s application to the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s violations of the 1951 Genocide Convention concerning the Palestinian people in Gaza. Zahra Baloch labeled Israel’s actions as war crimes and crimes against humanity, calling for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the blockade, and expedited humanitarian assistance.
The spokesperson also highlighted the observance of January 5 as the Right to Self-Determination Day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She stressed the importance of the UN resolution guaranteeing a free and fair plebiscite in the region and called on India to respect the rights of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
Pakistan pledged ongoing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
