PM Kakar, CEO Huawei Pakistan Discuss Investment Opportunities

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Huawei Pakistan led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ethan Sun called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Wednesday and discussed the prospects of investment of their company in the country.

During the meeting, Ethan Sun informed Prime Minister Kakar about the work being done by Huawei for the development and promotion of the ecosystem for information technology in Pakistan.

Huawei had set up about one hundred information technology centers in different universities in the country, he said.

The prime minister lauded Huawei for its measures for the spread of information technology in the country and expressed the hope that Huawei would assist the government in training youth and women, particularly those living in the far-flung parts of the country, in the sector of information.

PM Welcomes Huawei’s Desire for More Investment

He welcomed Huawei’s desire to make further investments in Pakistan in the sector of information technology.

He also invited Huawei to set up plants for mobile handset production.

Caretaker Minister for Information Technology Dr Umar Saif was also present at the meeting.
