ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held an extensive telephonic discussion with Bill Gates, the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and discussed progress in ongoing polio eradication efforts in Pakistan.
The phone call served as a follow-up to their prior discussion in New York during their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in September. Prime Minister Kakar expressed gratitude for the Gates Foundation’s support in Pakistan’s endeavors to achieve a polio-free status, reiterating the nation’s steadfast commitment to eliminating the virus. He provided an update on the ongoing polio vaccination drive across Pakistan.

They also discussed issues related to malnutrition and maternal health, highlighting the comprehensive nature of their dialogue.
The Prime Minister conveyed his satisfaction regarding the strong cooperation between the Government of Pakistan and BMGF. He assured Gates of Pakistan’s full dedication to realizing a promise of a healthier, safer, and financially inclusive nation, expressing confidence in reliable partners such as BMGF for the success of this collective effort.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister, who was on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, left for Kuwait, where he will meet the leadership of Kuwait to expand bilateral trade relations.
