Closely Monitor Gas Demand and Supply
ISLAMABAD: To deal with the expected gas shortage in the winter season, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to take all necessary steps for the provision of relief to gas consumers in the winter season.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad for the purpose, the prime minister directed to closely monitor gas demand and supply in the winter.
Called for indigenous resources to be utilized
The meeting also discussed the electricity situation in the country. The premier directed to reduce reliance on imported fuel for electricity generation. He said that indigenous resources be utilized to provide cheap electricity to the people.
The Ministry of Energy apprised the meeting of the gas demand and supply in the winter season.
Prime Minister Sharif instructed the concerned authorities to provide every possible relief to the consumers and take timely steps to avoid gas shortages in the upcoming winter season.
