PM Directs for Special CSS Exams to Fill Posts Reserved for Minorities, Remote Areas

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Friday ordered the formulation of a comprehensive policy for the appointment of competent civil servants in remote areas of the country.

PM Kakar also directed the restoration of the rotation policy of civil servants in line with its original spirit and to ensure its strict implementation. The Prime Minister was chairing a meeting to review progress on filling up vacant posts reserved for marginalized areas in civil bureaucracy through special examinations as well as rotation policy.

The prime minister directed to regularly hold competitive examinations to fill the vacant positions in civil bureaucracy reserved for people from marginalized areas and minorities.

He emphasized persistent awareness campaigns to encourage minorities to participate in the competitive examination for government jobs.

Equal Opportunities, Rights to Minorities

The premier said that the country’s constitution provides equal opportunities and rights to minorities and people belonging to underprivileged areas. He said the government was fully committed to providing equal opportunities for progress for all citizens.

The meeting was briefed about the recently conducted special examination of the Central Superior Services (CSS). It was informed that fifteen thousand candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 3,500 belonged to Balochistan. The examination has more than 60 seats reserved in quota for the province.

The meeting was attended by the PM’s Adviser, Ahad Khan Cheema, the PM’s secretary, the Secretary of the Federal Public Service Commission, and the Secretary of Establishment.
