LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has visited various free wheat flour distribution points in south Punjab to ensure that elderly and differently-abled persons are being facilitated. During his visit to a free flour centre in Multan, the Prime Minister directed officials to extend maximum assistance to those who need it.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the elderly, disabled persons and women should receive free flour bags without any trouble. He also ordered officials to lift the bags for those who cannot lift the 10-kg bags and help them reach their bicycles or motorcycles.
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements made at flour distribution points and lauded the Multan administration for making the best arrangements.
The Prime Minister also talked to the poor assembled at the district sports ground, including the differently-abled persons, and asked them about the level of facilities at the Atta distribution centers.
PM orders administration to immediately resolve complaints
He issued orders to the local administration to take immediate measures to resolve complaints of the people on the spot.
The Commissioner and DC informed the Prime Minister that 75 counters had been set up at Multan center, which they described as the biggest center in south Punjab.
They said that 20,000 flour bags of 10 kilograms would be distributed among the poor, and over 6,500 bags had already been distributed by mid-day today. They also briefed the Prime Minister on the arrangements made for the Ramazan Package.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had visited wheat flour centers at Bahawalpur, where he reviewed arrangements for free Atta distribution and witnessed the process.
The Prime Minister’s visit aimed to ensure that the impoverished segments of society are being provided with essential commodities without any trouble, especially during the month of Ramazan ul Mubarak.
The officials have been directed to supervise the operation personally and extend maximum assistance to those in need.
