Planning Minister Terms Policy Continuity Key to Success of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Dr. Ahsan Iqbal said that political turmoil and continuation of non-fruitful policies are the reasons for the failures, Pakistan has been facing for the last 75 years.

Speaking at an event on “Graduation of NSTP at National Science and Technology Park (NSTP)”, Ahsan Iqbal stressed that there is no lack of planning, honesty, capacity, and execution, however, we as a nation need political stability.

Planning Minister developed countries

The Planning Minister said that developed countries including Bangladesh, Japan, India, China, South Korea, Singapore, and several others countries are successful and developed in the world due to political stability and the continuation of sustainable policies.

Planning Minister on Pakistani youth

Federal Minister said that the youth of Pakistan could become a proven asset to the country, by properly providing direction and environment under the political stability of Pakistan. Ahsan said that it’s a distinction to see the future of Pakistan is in the safe hands and that Pakistani youth is the future of the country.

The Planning Minister of Pakistan said that the government’s top priority is to provide the best opportunity to the youth including education, training, sports, and exposure which could build a stronger youth. The strong and secure youth lead Pakistan on the way to progress and development.

Planning Minister on CPEC

Ahsan Iqbal said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which started in 2017, became a game-changer for Pakistan, and changed the perception of Pakistan, as a safe haven for terrorist organizations and become a hub of huge Chinese investments. CPEC become a gateway for Pakistan to huge global investment destination.

Planning Minister on PML-N government

The planning minister said that the government of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) had increased the financing in the Public Sector Development sector. Funding in the public sector starts from Rs340 to Rs1,000 billion in 2013, and started new electricity projects of 11,000 megawatts in four years, making the country load-shedding free in 2018.
