PIMS to Set up Kidney Transplant Center

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is set to establish 8 to 12 bedded Kidney Transplant Center (KDI) in the hospital within three months.

Two Renal and Liver Transplant Surgeons and associate professors, Dr. Obaid Ullah and Dr. Nadir Hussain, have been selected to serve at the new kidney transplant center at PIMS. According to sources, the doctors are currently working at Sheikh Zayed Teaching Hospital, Lahore.

PIMS  obtains Human Organ Transplant Authority license

They said the PIMS recently obtained a Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) license.

The approval of the center is pending due to the detailed inspection and scrutiny of HOTA administrator, but it is hoped that the process will be completed soon.
