BRUSSELS: The airport officials said on Saturday that a strike by Ryanair pilots in Belgium in a dispute over the current working conditions has canceled more about flights to and from Charleroi in this weekend. The airport officials said that the action will affect more than 17,000 passengers in the southern city.
Pilots’ Strike Cancels About 100 Flights in Belgium
In a statement, the pilots’ union said the air company was failing to pay respect to Belgian law and was prospering thanks to “social dumping” that also creates partial competition for other firms that abide by the laws and rules.
Ryanair has earlier called on the pilots to talk rather than stage strike and also noted it had reached an agreement on working conditions with its French, Spanish, and Italian staff.
AFP reported that 120 flights to and from Charleroi were canceled due to the previous strike weekend on July 15 to 16.
