LAHORE: Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment on Monday summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader and former provincial health minister Yasmin Rashid in a corruption case in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
The Punjab anti-corruption team has started the inquiry against the former minister, and she has been ordered to appear before the Punjab ACE on 4 April, a local TV reported.
The anti-corruption team has also summoned the PIC Executive director, MS, and others accused of giving Rashid a bribe.
Corruption charges
Yasmin Rashid is accused of corruption in the canteen, parking, and cleaning contracts of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
The suspects are accused of stealing more than Rs1 billion from the national exchequer by purchasing stents at higher prices by neglecting PPRA rules.
They are also suspected of buying equipment used in bypass heart surgeries at excessive rates.
