BEIJING: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received the approval from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the weekly flight operations directly between Islamabad and Xian by adopting Xian-Beijing route from December next month.
According to officials, the PIA flight number “PK-856” will depart from Islamabad International Airport for Xian on every Tuesday and flight number “PK-857” will return to Islamabad on the same day.
The route of arrival and departed flight route Islamabad to Xian and Xian to Islamabad will make third direct flight of the PIA, between both brotherly countries.
PIA which is also known as national flag carrier of Pakistan is already operating two weekly passenger flights on Islamabad to Beijing and Beijing to Islamabad flight route and Islamabad to Chengdu and Chengdu to Islamabad flight routes on Sunday and Wednesday in a week respectively.
China and Pakistan’s PIA Aviation Heights
It is worth mentioning here that the Civil Aviation Administration of China CAAC already accorded approval to Pakistan International Airlines PIA, to resume its direct flights between Islamabad and Beijing from October 30 2022, in context of considering Pakistan as its brotherly and all-weather strategic-partner of China.
PIA is included in the few international airlines which are allowed to operate three direct flights in a week.
Pakistani officials, traders and students and citizens have heartedly welcomed the launching of PIA’s direct passenger flights between the two forever friends Pakistan and China.
They said the direct flights of the national flag carrier, between multiple Pakistani and Chinese cities would also facilitate Chinese personnel working on different projects being completed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan. — APP
