Photo Exhibition Highlighting Kashmiris’ Resilience Starts in Turkiye

KECIOREN: A two-day photo exhibition highlighting Indian grave human rights violations and Kashmiri resilience in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) started at Kecioren, Turkiye on Thursday.

Turgut Altinok, Mayor of Kecioren, and Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires Abbas Sarwar Qureshi jointly inaugurated the exhibition.

The exhibition is being organized in connection with the 4th ‘Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir’, (Exploitation of Kashmir Day, the day when India, breaching international law, particularly UN Security Council resolutions, undertook further unilateral and illegal actions and revoked special status of IIOJK.

Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Turgut Altinok reiterated Turkish support for the Kashmir Cause and said that desire for freedom and justice always prevailed over subjugation and oppression. He said that IIOJK was destined to see the dawn of freedom, and in this independence struggle, Turkish brothers would always support their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

Abbas Sarwar Qureshi, in his address, said that the exhibition brought together a collection of thought-provoking and striking photographs showcasing the day-to-day experiences of Kashmiris and their struggle for the right to self-determination.

Exhibition Highlights Indian Troops’ Atrocities

He said that each photograph served as a testimony to the strong spirit of Kashmiris fighting Indian brutalities and human rights violations. While urging the participants to feel the pain and anguish of Kashmiri people as reflected in the photos, he said that this exhibition serves as a reminder that the pursuit of basic human rights is a mutual responsibility, and the international community must play its due role to stop grave human rights abuses in the valley.

Qureshi acknowledged the principled stance of Turkiye on the Kashmir dispute and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support of the Kashmir cause at international forums.
