ISLAMABAD: Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi have struggled to find consistency in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

The team currently sits fifth on the points table, having collected just four points from six matches.

Amid their underwhelming campaign, former Pakistan cricketer Khurram Manzoor has criticised Peshawar Zalmi’s approach in the player draft, questioning their selection strategy.

Speaking to the media, Manzoor stated that the franchise has been making poor choices during the draft process.

“You have to admit that you’ve been drafting poorly for the past three years. I don’t understand their team combination. It’s understandable if it happens once, but repeating the same mistakes suggests it’s become a habit,” he remarked.

Players’ criticism

Manzoor was particularly critical of batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who has remained a regular fixture in the Peshawar Zalmi line-up since his PSL debut.

“I don’t understand what Kohler-Cadmore has done to earn such unwavering support. What significant contribution has he made to the franchise? He’s been with the team for three years,” he added.

The former Pakistan batter believes that Peshawar Zalmi’s performance in PSL 10 is being adversely affected by their continued efforts to accommodate Kohler-Cadmore in the playing XI.

It is also worth mentioning that skipper Babar Azam is facing scrutiny for his lack of form in the tournament.

Aside from a solitary half-century, Babar has yet to deliver a truly impactful innings for his team.
