ISLAMABAD: Following a deadly blast at a mosque in Police Lines, security has been beefed up in Peshawar as new security SOPs have been issued for the Civil Secretariat as well.
The police have been put on high alert in all educational institutions, places of worship, and government offices in order to block any anti-state activity. The city’s entry and exit points have been strengthened with police force, and residents are encouraged to cooperate with security officers.
Security SOPs by district administration
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the district administration issued new security protocols for entering the Civil Secretariat, where the blast occurred. According to the new SOPs, vehicles would be thoroughly checked at the main entrance, including opening the vehicle compartment and inspecting the engine, fuel tank, trunk, and body.
The travelers would lower the vehicle’s side glass to prove their identity to security officials at the entrance. All visitors would be subjected to a full body search and written details. No vehicle other than the Chief Secretary’s would be permitted in front of the Chief Secretary’s office. All walk-through gates at the Civil Secretariat and departments would be activated immediately, and everyone would be required to pass through the walk-through gate.
In addition to the existing SOPs for admission to the Civil Secretariat, the department administration has urged government employees and the general public to adhere to the instructions and SOPs strictly. — APP
