ISLAMABAD: Worried about the increasing extortion incidents in Peshawar, the local businessmen from Peshawar have written a letter to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

The letter said that the traders in Capital city of KPK are worried about extortion calls and grenade attacks at their houses. Due to these incidents, traders of the Insaaf Traders Wing have written a letter to Imran Khan.
Extortion incidents have increased in Peshawar
In the letter, it is said that extortion incidents have increased in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, especially Capital city of KPK. Bombs were thrown at the houses of former minister Haji Javed and Senator Hidayatullah. The traders said that the law and order situation in Peshawar has become unsatisfactory despite bringing it to the notice of the provincial government. The traders said that steps have not been taken to control lawlessness.

It has also been mentioned in the letter that a Customs officer was killed in Gulbahar for resisting robbery, and the father of a businessman was killed in 2016 for not paying extortion. Therefore, steps should be taken to address the situation, the businessmen demanded. PTI’s businessman wing has sought time to arrange a meeting between the aggrieved businessmen and the PTI chairman.
