PESHAWAR: A major cheating scandal has surfaced in the Public Commission Service (PCS) recruitment test for the Assistant Engineering post, with as many as 18 candidates caught using electronic devices during the examination.
The PCS, based in Peshawar, has taken swift action following an inquiry, imposing a three-year ban on the implicated candidates and deciding to nullify the results of the affected Assistant Engineer test.
The PCS officials responded promptly to the allegations by establishing an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the cheating incident. Upon the completion of the committee’s inquiry, the decision to ban the accused candidates was made, preventing them from participating in any PCS tests for the next three years.
The scandal has raised concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process and has prompted the PCS to take stringent measures to maintain the credibility of its examinations. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by dishonest practices in competitive exams and the importance of upholding ethical standards in the recruitment process.
