ISLAMABAD: A two-day Water Festival and Technology Fair commenced on Thursday at the Pak-China Friendship Center, organized by the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR).

The primary objectives of Pakistan Water Week 2023 include fostering public awareness and disseminating information on water stewardship. The event aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill enhancement for the general public, focusing on transformative pathways for water and food systems in a climate-resilient Pakistan.

The program also emphasizes sensitizing policy and decision-makers to the crucial role of water resources in socio-economic development.

This Festival is part of the ongoing ‘Pakistan Water Week 2023’. Scheduled for December 7-8, 2023, the national workshop at the Pak-China Friendship Center in Islamabad, in collaboration with IWMI, UNICEF, and partners, will explore “transformative approaches” and gather insights from the youth on this theme.

A diverse range of activities is planned, engaging students from schools to universities and participants from various fields. The national workshop will unfold over two days, featuring interactive events such as a technology showcasing exhibition, debate competitions, essay writing competitions, water board games, final year projects for engineering and environmental sciences, student art competitions, student poster competitions, and a documentary competition.

The Water Festival highlights an exhibition showcasing the latest advancements in water technologies alongside activities like essay writing, water board games, and poster design competitions.
