PCB Doubles Key Players’ Central Contract Remuneration

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf has announced that the central contract remuneration of key cricketers is being doubled.

This announcement was made by Zaka Ashraf during the inaugural session of the Lahore Qalandars Women Players Development Program.

Cricketers in A category will now receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 9.0 million, while those in the B category will be entitled  for Rs 6.0 million.

Players  in C and D categories will receive varying amounts ranging from Rs 1.5 to 3 million.

This change translates to cricketers such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Rizwan, who belong to the A category, receiving a monthly sum of Rs 9 million each. Given their versatile roles across different formats of a game, Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen have been placed in Category A.

The Chairman of the PCB expressed the organization’s desire to enable players to earn a substantial income from cricket while propelling the national team to the pinnacle of success. During this occasion, Zaka Ashraf highlighted that female cricketers will also receive commendable compensation, surpassing anything granted before.

Zaka Ashraf commended the Lahore Qalandars for their noteworthy contributions to Pakistan’s cricket. He emphasized the abundance of talent within Pakistan and underscored the importance of nurturing and promoting this talent.
