LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday that ten leading foreign women cricketers, representing seven different nations, will take part in the exhibition matches of the Pakistan Women’s League in Rawalpindi next week.
PCB announces squads for women’s league matches
The PCB said in a statement that the matches would be held hours before the Pakistan Super League (PSL-8) matches on 8, 10, and 11 March.
The Pakistan Women’s League is tentatively planned to start from September. The women’s League matches in March are scheduled to start at 2pm, followed by the PSL-8 games at 7pm.

The statement added that the PCB today revealed the two women’s squads for the three Women’s League matches, which will be played ahead of the PSL matches in Rawalpindi on March 8, 10, and 11.
Pakistani player Bismah Maroof will lead the Amazons, which include England’s trio of Lauren Winfield-Hill, Maia Bouchier, Australia’s Tess Flintoff, Ireland’s Laura Delany, and Tammy Beaumont.
10 foreign stars will be accompanied by 🇵🇰’s 20 elite players, 4 U19 players & 2 emerging cricketers.
The playing line-ups will include a maximum of 4 & minimum of 3 foreign players & a minimum of 1 emerging or U19 player.

Similarly, Nida Dar will lead the Super Women, which will comprise Danni Wyatt of England, Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, Jahanara Alam of Bangladesh, and Lea Tahuhu of New Zealand, the statement maintained.
The PCB maintained that ten foreign cricketers would be accompanied by Pakistan’s 20 stars and 4 Under 19 cricketers who also featured in the International Cricket Council’s U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. These include Eyman Fatima, Areesha Noor, Syeda Aroob Shah and Shawaal Zulfiqar, as well as two emerging players Syeda Masooma Zahra and Fatima Khan.
The country’s cricket board further said that the 36 players have been equally divided into two sides with the playing line-ups to include a maximum of 4 and minimum of 3 foreign cricketers and a minimum of 1 emerging player. Last year in October, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) published its plan to start a women’s league.
