LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the schedule for the upcoming tour of the New Zealand men’s cricket team, featuring five T20 matches, a statement said on Wednesday. According to the PCB, the matches will be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The Kiwis are set to land in Islamabad on April 14, kicking off the tour with three T20Is in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20, and 21. Subsequently, both teams will visit Lahore for the remaining two T20Is, scheduled for April 25 and 27, respectively. All matches of the T20I series are slated to commence at 7 pm, as confirmed by the cricket board.
PCB further stated that ticket prices for the series will be kept affordable, ensuring fans can witness their favorite players in action. This forthcoming tour by the Blackcaps marks their third visit to Pakistan within a span of 17 months.
Previously, the New Zealand team visited Pakistan in 2023 for two Tests and three ODIs as part of the ICC Men’s Championship. In April of the same year, they embarked on a tour that included matches in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, featuring a total of 10 white-ball encounters.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, PCB’s Director of International Cricket, Usman Wahla, emphasized the significance of the tour as a testament to the enduring camaraderie shared between the PCB and New Zealand Cricket (NZC). He remarked, “This tour exemplifies the deep-rooted ties and mutual respect that define the relationship between our two cricketing nations. Our ardent cricket enthusiasts and the people of Pakistan eagerly anticipate the arrival of the New Zealand team once again, and we look forward to yet another fiercely competitive series, crucial to our preparations for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup.”
