ISLAMABAD: A rare clip of Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan (Pathan Khan) has resurfaced on social media while expressing his admiration for Pakistani cricket players.
Abdul Razzaq, a Pakistani all-rounder, was praised by SRK in 2010 and named the top T20 player in the world. Wasim Akram was among the five players in Khan’s team during the inaugural IPL season who faced criticism for being largely Pakistani.
The Pathaan star reported that 11 Pakistani players were shortlisted for the IPL auction, but none were selected.
“I’m not explaining, and I genuinely think Pakistani T20 players are the greatest in the world. They are champions and wonderful. We cannot ignore the fact that there is a problem somewhere along the line,” he remarked.
At the end of the widely shared video, he pleaded with the young fans to maintain sports free of politics, end these animosities, and prevent them from growing. Be excellent neighbors rather than lay blame.
