ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Federal Government has officially listed the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) as a proscribed organization, citing activities deemed prejudicial to the nation’s peace and security.
This decision was made under Section 11B of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997. The notification formalizing PTM’s status was issued as SRO NO (1)/2024, underscoring the government’s concerns regarding PTM’s activities.
The group has been placed on the First Schedule, categorizing it as an organization involved in actions that jeopardize national stability and security under the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
