QUETTA: Several parts of Baluchistan, including Quetta, received the second spill of snowfall and downpour on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the capital Quetta also received its first snowfall of the winter.
The provincial capital of Baluchistan Quetta, Ziarat, Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, Qila Abdullah, and some other adjacent areas received snowfall that began early in the morning and continued till the evening.
In the capital Quetta, the rain was followed by snowfall on Wednesday morning and continued with brief intervals throughout the day. Hilltops around Quetta city are also laded with a white blanket at the night.
The continued snowfall affected the flow of traffic at Kan Mehtarzai and the roads leading to Ziarat and some others surrounding areas of northern Baluchistan. However, the PDMA and workers from the local administration have started operations to remove snow from the roads.
More rain, and snowfall on Thursday
As per the prediction by the Metrological Department, further, rain-snowfall is expected over the hills in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a westerly wave entered North Baluchistan on Wednesday which may produce more rain/snowfall in some parts of Baluchistan till 19th January.
