ISLAMABAD: Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Senior Vice Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that taking part in the G20 summit in the United Nations-designated disputed territory is meant to support Indian crimes and justify Indian illegal actions in the territory and its deceitful occupation.
In Srinagar, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar expressed Kashmiris’ hope that G20 members will refrain from adding salt to the oppressed Kashmiris’ already-bleeding wounds because they uphold the supremacy of human rights.
According to him, it is expected that civilised G20 members will refrain from supporting criminal activity and will place a higher value on human dignity than material wealth.
He asked the people of Kashmir to strictly adhere to the APHC protest calendar, observe crippling strikes there, and hold rallies and other protest-related events in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as well as everywhere around the globe.
He said Kashmir has been converted into a fortress and people there are suffering humiliation and the worst atrocities at the hands of Indian troops. He strongly condemned the Indian government’s increased use of state terrorism, widespread arrests, particularly fake encounters, killings, and search and cordon operations.
He stressed G20 member countries to understand the ulterior motives of India behind holding the bloc’s meeting in Srinagar. The G20 countries should not forget that India is committing serious crimes against humanity and they will be considered as siding with the oppressor if they accept the invitation by the Modi to hold an event in IIOK.
According to Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, India aims to use the G20 summit in Srinagar to cover up its crimes while legitimising its unlawful occupation, particularly the barbaric activities that took place on August 5, 2019, on its soil.
He said it also wants to mislead the global community about the realities on the ground and give fake impressions of peace in the region. He asked a question that how can UN member states, who are signatories of the UN human rights charter, turn a blind eye towards the basic rights of Kashmiris and support the purpose of imperialist countries like India which have no regard for international commitments and UN resolutions?
Denouncing the havoc, devastation, and panic caused by Indian savages prior to the G20 event in Srinagar Gulzar said a freedom-loving and struggling nation cannot be intimidated by such cowardly and brutal acts.
He added that the dreaded investigation agencies have declared war against Kashmiris and they have made the lives of Kashmiris miserable. He appealed to the international human rights organizations and the UN to take notice of the situation and play their role to save Kashmiris from Hindutva terrorism. — APP
