ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that a parliamentary committee would discuss the terms of dialogue between the coalition parties and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) about holding polls countrywide on the same day.
The Prime Minister made the remarks in a meeting with leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — that form the PML-N-led coalition government.

The meeting between the leaders of PDM comes a day before a hearing of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on petitions pleading single-day elections to all national and provincial assemblies. In the last hearing, the SC issued directives to the government and opposition parties to develop a consensus on the date for conducting elections.
In his address today, the Prime Minister said the parliament had dealt with all challenges in the past and taken legal and constitutional measures about the Supreme Court.
Pakistan Democratic Movement head Maulana Fazlur, PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, MQM-P Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other leaders attended the session held earlier today.
Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan and ministers were also present on the occasion.
Local media reported that the meeting was briefed by the legal team on the election fund case and the talks with PTI.
