RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported a devastating toll from Zionist terrorism bombings on the Gaza Strip, with over 19,088 people killed and more than 54,450 injured.

According to the Palestinian Ma’an Health Agency, around 18,800 citizens lost their lives, with 70% being women and children. Additionally, over 51,000 citizens sustained injuries, and a significant number remain missing.

Among the casualties are over 300 health sector workers, 86 journalists, about 35 civil defence crews, and 135 UNRWA employees. The Ministry of Health expressed concern about depleting vaccine stocks in Gaza, emphasizing the potential catastrophic health consequences for children and the increased risk of disease spread, particularly among the displaced in overcrowded shelter centers. The Ministry documented 360,000 cases of infectious diseases in shelter centers, with the actual number believed to be higher.

In Gaza, only 11 out of 36 hospitals are partially operational and able to admit new patients, despite offering limited services. Moreover, only one of these hospitals is situated in the northern region, according to the World Health Organization.

In the West Bank, including al-Quds, the Ministry of Health reported 288 citizens martyred and 3,450 injured, including at least 535 children. Additionally, 84 citizens suffered injuries from settler militias. The year 2023 marks the bloodiest for Palestinians in the West Bank since 2005, with the total number of martyrs reaching 496 since the beginning of the year.

The Ministry of Health raised concerns about escalating attacks on hospitals, health centers, and ambulances in the West Bank, severely limiting access to essential healthcare services.
