LOS ANGELES: The 74-year-old Palestinian-American, Mohamed Hadid, in an Instagram post compared the Israel flag with the flag of the Nazi party.
Gigi Hadid’s father, Mohamed Hadid, is being called out for sharing a post on Instagram that compared Israel to the Nazi party.
The now-deleted post split the Israel flag with the Nazi party flag, including what Hadid believes to be comparisons between the two.
The image asserted that the Nazi party had been “founded on Aryan supremacy,” while Israel had been “founded on Jewish supremacy.”
The post further said that the Nazi’s “signature method” of “gas chambers” was similar to Israel’s “signature method” of “carpet bombing.”
The post went on to claim that both parties “expelled millions from their homes” and “used dehumanizing language for certain groups,” while comparing Gaza to Auschwitz.
Earlier this month, Hadid expressed his views on the conflict through social media.
“To Be Clear I condemn the killing and hostage-taking or abusing, torturing of civilians,” he wrote.
“Of Arabs Muslims, Jews or Christians. And complete disapproval of the treatment of the occupation against the occupied.”
His daughter, Gigi Hadid, also addressed the tragic situation on Instagram, showing deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle under occupation while emphasizing her responsibility to her Jewish friends, making it clear that she does not support harm against any Jewish individuals.
Mohamed Hadid is the father of Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid, and he was previously married to their mother, Yolanda Hadid, for six years.
