NEW YORK: The Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour has raised a “STOP THE GENOCIDE” at the podium of the UN General Assembly, Arab media reported.
Similarly, the Palestinian mission to the UN has asked the UNSC to take action against Israel. The mission made this demand in a letter to the UNSC. It added Israel does not care and act with total contempt as it does not fear for the costs of its unlawful behavior, confident they will be forever protected from culpability for their crimes. It further said that proved them wrong and implored the world to act to bring an end to this unfair and injustice.
War in Gaza and UNGA
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinians killed in the current Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip has reached around 18,800, local authorities said. According to a statement by the Palestinian Government Media Office in Gaza more than 51,000 Palestinians have been wounded by the Israeli military in the besieged Gaza in 70 days of the deadly war between Hamas and Israel.

It added that more than 8,000 children and 6,200 women were killed in the current conflict in the Gaza Strip. It may be recalled that the Israeli military has caused “an unprecedented humanitarian disaster” and immense destruction in the Gaza Strip.
As many as 4,420 Palestinians have been arrested in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, Arab media reported on Friday. In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that Israeli troops have arrested as many as 16 Palestinians during last 24 hours. It added that the arrests took place in Hebron, Nablus, Qalqilya, Tubas, and in occupied East Jerusalem.
The prisoner’s society said the total number of Palestinians arrested since October 7 in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem now stands around 4,420.
