WASHINGTON: The State of Palestine has welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution demanding a ceasefire immediately during the holy month of Ramadan in the Gaza Strip, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
Permanent Observer for the State of Palestine to the UN, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, made the remarks before the UN Security Council.
He said that the adoption of a resolution by the UN Security Council stressing an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan, is a vote for humanity to prevail.
In his speech, he emphasized that today’s vote must be a turning point and saving lives on the ground and an indication of the end to Gaza aggression. He called upon all forces to implement the resolution.
