RAMALLAH: The State of Palestine has strongly rejected Israeli Prime Minister’s recent speech at the United Nations General Assembly General debate, denouncing it as provocative and hateful. The Palestinian authorities expressed their strongest objections to the remarks made by Israel’s Prime Minister.

From the podium of the United Nations, the Israeli Prime Minister reiterated what Palestine considers the colonial aspirations of his government and the objectives behind Israel’s illegal occupation. The speech underscored Israel’s desire for the forcible and violent annexation of Palestinian territories and the negation of the presence and rights of the Palestinian people, including their fundamental rights to self-determination and return.

The Palestinian leadership called upon the international community to firmly reject and condemn Israel’s offensive and racist denigration of the Palestinian people. They also condemned Israel’s categorical denial of the Palestinian people’s deep historical roots in the land, which have been documented through centuries of history.

Palestine Condemns Israeli Actions

The State of Palestine noted that Israel’s actions and policies in the occupied territories, including East Jerusalem, are flagrant violations of international law, including the United Nations Charter, as well as humanitarian and human rights laws. These actions have been carried out in open defiance of the international community for over seven decades. In 2023, Israel continues to assert its illegal occupation and apartheid regime in Palestine, seemingly confident that it will not face any accountability.

The Palestinian leadership emphasized that such criminal behavior must never be normalized or tolerated. They called for the international community to hold Israel accountable for all its grave breaches in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. They urged that consequences be enforced for Israel’s alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people.
