ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, has formed a three-member bench to hear review petitions concerning the Faizabad sit-in case on September 28. The bench will be chaired by the Chief Justice himself and includes Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Amin Ud Din Khan.

The petitions scheduled for September 28 pertain to the February 6, 2019 verdict in which the Supreme Court had directed the defence ministry and the tri-services chief to hold accountable intelligence agency personnel under their command who were found to have violated their oath.

The original verdict was delivered in 2019 in a suo-moto case concerning a sit-in protest by the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) at Faizabad in 2017. Following this verdict, several review petitions were filed with the court, and they are currently pending.
