ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Ali Zafar on Monday voiced his deep concern over the ongoing crisis in Palestine, underscoring the prolonged suffering of Palestinian people at the hands of Israeli forces.
Addressing the Senate session, he said that for the past twenty-three days, the people of Palestine had been subjected to severe brutality by Israeli authorities. The Senator said that this violence knows no bounds, targeting men, women, and children alike, causing unspeakable suffering and losses.
He lamented the interruption of essential supplies, especially food, to Palestinian territories by the Israeli military. This blockade had only intensified the problems faced by the Palestinian population, Zafar added.
Ali Zafar expressed his dismay at global organizations in response to the escalating human rights violations committed by the Israeli military in Gaza. He urged the global community to take a stand and address the current situation in Palestine.
JUI Senator Expresses Serious Concerns Over Gaza Situation
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-(F) Senator Maulana Ghafoor Haideri expressed serious concern about the silence of human rights organizations on the Gaza issue.
He also criticized Muslim countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for not taking a firm stance on the Palestine issue. The Senator lamented the lack of implementation of United Nations resolutions on Palestine and Kashmir, urging Muslim nations, the OIC, and the Arab League to adopt a resolute and unanimous stance on the Palestine problem.
JI Senator’s Suggestions
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Mushtaq Ahmed suggested that the Senators, led by the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani to visit the Embassy of Palestine to express solidarity with its people. He further proposed that the same group should also visit the US Embassy in Pakistan to stage a protest against American support for Israel.
Mushtaq Ahmed said that the illegal occupation of Israeli forces in Palestine was unacceptable. He paid tributes to the people of Palestine for their unwavering fight against the illegal occupation.
The Senator also called on Muslim nations and the OIC to extend support to the people of Palestine and emphasized the importance of allowing humanitarian aid e to reach Palestine.
Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Senator Manzoor Ahmed underlined the loss of innocent lives at the hands of the Israeli military in Gaza and lamented the lack of a collective voice from Muslim nations. He expressed regret that Muslim nations were not providing due support to the people of Palestine, who were enduring the worst brutality at the hands of the Israeli military.
National Party Senator Tahir Bizenjo said that world powers had made the war a profitable business as the United States and European countries always remained major beneficiaries of all wars. He urged the government to continue diplomatic and political support of Palestine at all forums.
