RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the North Waziristan district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
According to ISPR, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the North Waziristan district on the reported presence of terrorists.
During the conduct of the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between security forces and the terrorists. As a result of the fire exchange, four terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were killed, ISPR said.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in several terrorist activities against Pakistan’s security forces and were planning to conduct a high-profile terrorist attack. The attack was averted due to a proactive response by the security forces. Arms, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists, ISPR added.
Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, ISPR maintained.
