ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday issued directives to the authorities concerned to ensure completion of the Resilient, Recovery Renovation and Rehabilitation Plan for the flood-hit areas, following getting input from all stakeholders and provinces. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued the directives while presiding over the meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday.
A report was also presented during the meeting. According to the review of the PDNA the damages done to 94 sectors including agriculture, health, industry, infrastructure, and communications. The PDNA was prepared in coordination with the EU, World Bank, UN, Asian Development Bank, NGO and academia. The meeting was told that as per the report, the floods had affected the agriculture sector in the country.

The cabinet members were told that in light of the PDNA, a Resilient, Recovery Renovation and Rehabilitation Plan was being formulated in consultation with all the relevant ministries, divisions as well as provincial governments.
Discussing other agenda items, the federal cabinet, on the Petroleum Division’s recommendation, approved the restoration of 11 Petroleum Exploration Licenses which would lead to the revival of exploration activities in 11 exploration blocks.
The cabinet also nodded at the signing of the transit trade agreement between Pakistan and Tajikistan which is expected to be signed during the upcoming visit of the Tajik president to Pakistan.
The federal body also endorsed the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committees taken in its meeting held on November 29 and December 2.
