ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday on a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Minister for Justice of the UAE Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi and Pakistani diplomatic staff received the prime minister on his arrival at Abu Dhabi’s Al-Bateen Airport, a Prime Minister Office Press note said.

During his trip, the PM will meet the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The visit will also include the signing of MoUs between Pakistan and the UAE in a range of fields, including investment cooperation in the sectors of energy, wastewater treatment, food security, port operations projects, logistics, mining, aviation, and banking and financial services.

In a statement released earlier today, the Foreign Office said that the trip would provide an opportunity to advance bilateral relations in all spheres, including political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, defense, and people-to-people ties.

It said that Pakistan and the UAE enjoy warm and long-standing fraternal relations that have stood multiple tests of time.

The PM would also later plead Pakistan’s case at a key session of the upcoming 28th Conference of Parties (COP-28) slated to be organized in the UAE on December 1-2.

In a meeting earlier this week, he had directed the authorities concerned to make full preparations for presenting Pakistan’s stance during the COP-28 on climate finance and other issues effectively.
