Pakistan’s President Writes to PM, CJP to Alleviate Murad Saeed’s Grievances

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, on Saturday, wrote separate letters to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Justice of Pakistan and asked them to resolve the issues raised by PTI leader Murad Saeed to alleviate his concerns.

In his letters to Chief Justice, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Arif Alvi referred to the serious allegations levelled by the parliamentarian, which among other things, included:  bogus, fake, frivolous FIR was lodged against him for the incident that took place at Masjid-e-Nabvi, Madina Sharif, on May 1, 2022, although he was in Pakistan at that time.

Cases against Murad Saeed

Several FIRs have been registered against him on the same charges all over Pakistan. The actions mentioned above are against the fundamental constitutional rights ensured under Articles 9, 13, and 14 of Pakistan’s Constitution.

Murad Saeed raised the issue of the worsening law and order situation in the Malakand division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Subsequently, he was threatened with serious consequences and compelled to leave Swat and his family.

President Arif Alvi pointed out that such alleged acts violated Article 9 of the Constitution and the law.
