ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi highlighted the significance of collective action involving government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and civil society to enhance the quality of life for impoverished citizens and the elderly within society.
During a meeting with a delegation from the Old Age Home, Aafiyat Multan, held at the President House, Arif Alvi emphasized the profound significance that Islam places on respecting and supporting senior members of the community.
He encouraged parents to ensure that their children receive an education and training that aligns with the teachings of Islam. Additionally, he stressed that fulfilling the fundamental rights of parents should rank among the foremost responsibilities of their offspring.
“Concrete steps are necessary to provide essential facilities and life necessities to those without homes and the elderly,” Alvi commented, highlighting the need for tangible actions to address these issues.

The president called upon philanthropists, welfare organizations, and all segments of society to put forth special endeavors in the care and support of the elderly. He emphasized that both legal and social measures are necessary to safeguard the well-being of senior citizens.
In recognition of their efforts, President Alvi commended the contributions of the ‘Tare Zemin Par Trust’ and ‘Affiyat’ for their dedication to the welfare of the elderly.
