Pakistan’s President, PM Condemn Barkhan Blast

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday condemned the blast in Barkhan district of Balochistan province, which resulted in the loss of precious lives.

President Alvi and PM Shehbaz expressed their profound grief over the loss of lives and condoled the bereaved families.

They also prayed for the departed souls and the early recovery of the wounded people, President Secretariat and PM Office media department said in their separate press releases.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif summoned a report from the chief minister of Balochistan and inspector general of police over the incident.

The president also stressed expediting efforts to completely eliminate the menace of terrorism.

PM directs for best medical treatment to Barkhan blast injured

PM Shehbaz said that terrorists could not escape from the punishment, and those shedding innocent blood would be made an example.

The prime minister also directed providing the best medical treatment to the wounded.

The local media quoting the police officials reported that the explosion occurred when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle went off in Rakhni Bazaar. However, police officials said that they were carrying out further investigation.
