Pakistan’s President for Further Strengthening Economic, Cultural Bonds with Jordan

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday said that Pakistan wanted to further deepen its relations with Jordan in areas of the economy, trade, defense, and culture.

President Alvi, while talking to outgoing Jordanian ambassador to Pakistan Ibrahim Yala Al Madani, who called on him here in President House, said that Pakistan enjoyed excellent fraternal ties with Jordan based on shared culture and history.

He emphasized the need for expanding cooperation with Jordan in the economic and commercial areas for the mutual benefit of the two nations.

He also stressed the need for political, educational, and cultural exchanges to bring the two nations further closer.

The president commended Jordan’s efforts for peace and support to the Palestine problem through political and diplomatic means.

He reaffirmed the support of Pakistan to the Palestinian people for their undeniable right to self-determination.

President Stresses Steps to Stop Islamophobia

Expressing his concerns over the rising incidents of Islamophobia, he emphasized the need for taking effective steps by the international community to prevent such disturbing incidents.

He said that there was a growing need to promote interfaith harmony, tolerance, and respect for each other’s religion.

President Alvi lauded the efforts made by the outgoing envoy to boost bilateral cooperation during his stay in Pakistan.
