Pakistan’s President for Further Consolidating Relations with Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, on Monday urged for further strengthening bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia in various fields, especially economy, investment, and culture.

President Alvi, while talking to Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah who led a delegation to meet him, said that Pakistan highly valued its ties with Saudi Arabia, which were based on shared faith, common history, and people-to-people relations.

Welcoming the delegation, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further consolidate the existing economic partnership with Saudi Arabia for the mutual benefit of both nations.

He highlighted the need to expand bilateral trade as immense opportunities existed for investment in Pakistan in various sectors such as information technology, renewable energy, hospitality, industrial and infrastructure development and the sectors.

President Lauds Hajj Arrangements

The president thanked the Saudi government for making excellent arrangements for the Hajj this year.

He expressed the hope that the Saudi government would expedite the purchasing process of the Pakistan House in Markazziah in Madina from the compensation amount for 2 Pakistan Houses demolished in Madina.

He lauded Saudi Arabia and its leadership for its strong support for important Muslim causes, particularly the Kashmir problem, Palestine and Afghanistan issues through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He expressed the hope that Riyadh would continue to play its important role.

He appreciated the leadership of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman over the normalization of ties with Iran, saying that his leadership in the Muslim World was much appreciated.

The visiting Saudi minister said that ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were very strong that required to be further consolidated for the mutual benefit of the two nations.

He said Saudi Arabia would continue to provide good facilities to the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
