ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday asked Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Jordan to work for further enhancing bilateral cooperation with the brotherly nation in the areas of economy, trade, culture, and people-to-people contacts.

He said that Pakistan cherished its close, friendly, and fraternal ties with Jordan which were rooted in shared religion, history, and culture.
Congratulating Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Jordan, Major General (r) Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal, President Alvi said that Pakistan highly valued its relations with Jordan and wanted to further improve bilateral trade, economic, political, and cultural ties for the mutual interest of the two nations.
He expressed satisfaction over the current ties between the two nations, which were marked by warmth and commonality of views on both sides.
President emphasizes regular high-level exchanges
President Alvi emphasized the need for regular high-level exchanges, including the exchange of parliamentary delegations, arranging of bilateral political consultations, and joint ministerial commissions to improve socio-political and economic relations.
He commended the commonality of views between Pakistan and Jordan on various matters concerning the Muslim world, particularly Palestine and Islamophobia, and urged the need to work closely with other Muslim nations on such issues. The President wished the newly-appointed envoy success on his new assignment in Amman.
