ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr. Arif Alvi, on Wednesday strongly condemned the blast incidents targeting election candidates in Southwestern Balochistan that left at least 28 people dead and over 40 others injured.

In a statement, the President expressed profound sadness and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He offered prayers for the departed souls and urged for Allah’s mercy and peace upon them.

The initial attack, reportedly a suicide bombing, claimed the lives of 15 people and injured over 30 outside the campaign office of independent candidate Asfand Yar Khan Kakar in Pishin. The second blast targeted the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) office in Qila Saifullah, resulting in the death of 13 individuals and injuring 17 others.
