ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr. Arif Alvi, urged the enhancement of trade, cultural, and economic collaboration with Nigeria, emphasizing the need to boost bilateral trade for the shared advantage of both countries.
Dr. Arif Alvi expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Nigeria, Major General (retd) Sohail Ahmad Khan, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, said a press release issued from the President Secretariat Press Wing on Monday.
Highlighting Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa, President Alvi urged Pakistan to explore opportunities to strengthen trade and economic ties with the country.
Pakistan’s President for Cultural Diplomacy
He underscored the significance of economic diplomacy as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and expressed the country’s high regard for its relations with Nigeria, particularly in the economic domain.
President Alvi encouraged the newly appointed high commissioner to focus on fostering cultural connections and people-to-people interactions to fortify the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Nigeria.
He extended congratulations to Major General (retd) Sohail Ahmad Khan on his appointment, expressing optimism that he would actively contribute to the further enhancement of bilateral relations in various areas of mutual interest.
