Pakistan’s President Calls for Enhanced Economic Collaborations with Tunisia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr. Arif Alvi, highlighted the importance of fostering greater economic collaborations with Tunisia to bolster bilateral trade.

During a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Tunisia, Javed Ahmed Umrani, President Alvi stressed the need for increased interactions and exchanges between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries.

President Alvi expressed the high-value Pakistan places on its historical and brotherly ties with Tunisia, emphasizing the commonality of views between the two nations on various issues. He urged the ambassador-designate to play a vital role in further strengthening bilateral relations by enhancing cooperation in areas such as education, culture, and defense.

Tunisia’s Vision for Utilizing OIC

Acknowledging Tunisia’s vision for utilizing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a platform for promoting inter-faith harmony and addressing international issues, President Alvi also underscored the importance of addressing pressing matters such as the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute, Palestine, and Islamophobia.

The president urged the ambassador to highlight issues related to Islamophobia and the mistreatment of minorities in India at various forums. He asserted that India was committing gross human rights violations and persecuting Muslims in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), emphasizing the need to expose India’s true face to the world.

President Alvi conveyed his best wishes for Tunisia’s success in strengthening its democracy and democratic institutions under the leadership of President Kais Saied.
