Pakistan’s President Advocates Ethical Governance, Service to Humanity

LAHORE: Pakistan’s President, Dr. Arif Alvi, on Friday, urged bureaucrats to uphold responsibility, responsiveness, empathy, accountability, and efficiency during the passing-out ceremony of the participants who completed the 46th Specialized Training Programme at the Civil Services Academy. President Alvi emphasized the crucial role of public governance in aligning with the welfare of the community.

Highlighting the significance of institutions like the Civil Services Academy, President Alvi acknowledged their role in imparting training and skills to enhance the capabilities of participants. He drew an analogy to the Pyramid of Giza, emphasizing that skills and focused goals are key to achieving success. President Alvi encouraged maintaining a balance between needs and wants, asserting that true happiness is found in serving humanity.

Expressing concern about the current state of the world, President Alvi addressed the global love deficit and emphasized the need to eliminate hatred. He underscored that wealth alone does not alter the fate of a country; effective leadership is paramount. President Alvi credited the tools and techniques learned by bureaucrats for providing a moral anchor.

Referring to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA), President Alvi highlighted the importance of forgiveness, humility, prayer, and maintaining equality in the standard of living. He urged executives to embody these traits for effective public service.

President Alvi concluded the ceremony by distributing certificates and prizes among the accomplished graduates, emphasizing the need for willpower to overcome the challenges faced by the country. The Director General of the Civil Services Academy, Farhan Aziz Khawaja, also addressed the gathering.
