ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a reminder to all political parties to submit their consolidated statements of accounts for the financial year 2024-25 by August 29, 2025.
In accordance with Section 210 of the Elections Act, 2017, read with Section 204 and Rules 159 and 160 of the Election Rules, 2017, political parties are required to file audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2025, said an ECP press release issued on August 08.
These statements must be submitted on Form-D, as prescribed by the ECP.
The statement must include a detailed account of the annual income and expenses, clearly outlining the sources of funds as well as the party’s assets and liabilities. This submission should be accompanied by an audit report prepared by a Chartered Accountant to ensure financial transparency and accuracy. Additionally, a certificate signed by an office-bearer authorised by the party head must be provided, affirming that no funds were received from prohibited sources, the statement accurately reflects the party’s financial position, the information is correct to the best of the signatory’s knowledge, and that the audit report is annexed to the submission.
Bank statements
Printed copies of Form-D are available free of cost at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad and in the offices of the Provincial Election Commissioners in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. The form and the Source of Funds proforma can also be downloaded from the ECP website, the ECP’s statement said.
The ECP has instructed parties to avoid overwriting in their submissions.
Each Form-D must include the ICAP membership certificate of the auditor, as well as the auditor’s most recent valid renewal certificate. Additionally, legible copies of all bank statements covering the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, must be provided.
The completed statements must be addressed to the secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan, Constitution Avenue, G-5/2, Islamabad, and must be delivered in person by an office-bearer authorised by the party head, as per Rule 156. Submissions sent via post, fax, courier, or any other method will not be accepted.
