ABU DHABI: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his government’s firm commitment to revolutionizing country’s economy through robust collaboration, joint ventures, and knowledge-sharing partnerships with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Speaking at a round-table session titled “Innovate Together: UAE-Pakistan Tech Collaborations” in Abu Dhabi Thursday, he emphasized the government’s dedicated efforts to harness the potential of information technology and artificial intelligence across various sectors of Pakistan’s economy, including agriculture, mining, and industry, to bolster exports.

Highlighting the pivotal role of IT skills in empowering Pakistan’s youthful demographic, which constitutes sixty percent of the population, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of fostering a skilled workforce.

He lauded the collaborative efforts between UAE and Pakistani companies aimed at advancing the digitization of the economy and expressed eagerness to replicate such initiatives within Pakistan.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to provide top-tier vocational training equipped with modern skills, enabling people to legally pursue opportunities in the UAE.

Recognizing the unwavering support extended by the UAE to Pakistan, he emphasized a departure from dependency, focusing instead on fostering mutually beneficial collaborations and investments.

During the event, three significant agreements were inked between Pakistani and UAE companies, signaling a deepening of economic ties. These agreements involved Labware Arabia and Maison Consulting, Info Tech Group and 800 Inc Holdings, as well as Minsait (INDRA) Spain and Info Tech Group.

The Prime Minister concluded the session by honoring executives from prominent UAE companies with awards, acknowledging their substantial investment portfolios in Pakistan.
