ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad to offer condolences for the tragic loss of Chinese nationals in the recent terrorist attack in Karachi.
He was accompanied by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Information Minister Atta Tarar during his visit. In his meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, the Prime Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the deaths of the Chinese citizens. He emphasized that the protection of Chinese nationals in Pakistan is the government’s top priority.
Prime Minister Sharif denounced the attack as a heinous conspiracy aimed at undermining Pak-China relations and assured that such actions would not be tolerated. He committed to personally overseeing the investigation and pledged to enhance security measures for foreign nationals in the country.
He reiterated that the government is fully engaged in identifying and apprehending those responsible for this terrorist act, vowing to bring them to justice swiftly.
In response, the Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude for the prompt actions taken by the Pakistani government, including the initiation of the investigation.
He conveyed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to effectively investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are identified and brought to justice as soon as possible.
